H&M one of the leading clothing retailers in Europe drew crowds into a fashion feeding frenzy in its stores located in London and Amsterdam after unveiling a collection by the Dutch designing duo Viktor & Rolf at a fraction of their usually steep prices.
At the London store located in Oxford Circus, escalators had to be stopped due to the huge quantities of people that gathered from the early hours in the morning seeking to take advantage of these unusually low prices. Reportedly a Viktor & Rolf tuxedo which sells for about 1,250 USD was going for 250.
The aim of the retail firm is to promote the company's name and raise customer awareness. People who don't usually shop at H&M are drawn there because of the big designer names and the low prices.
People who have been able to get some of the garments on sale are already selling the on eBay for a substantial overprice.
